Social Program

The social program for registered participants will include the following activities (all of them complimentary with the registration fee):

Ice Breaker Wine and opening of the exhibition hall: Monday, May 30, 2022, Asturias Room, Gijon Conference Center (19:00 – 20:30)

Welcome Cocktail (Asturian Espicha) and Asturias Traditional Music: Tuesday, May 31, 2022, Tendayu (Muséu del Pueblu d’Asturies), five minutes walking distance from the Conference Center (19:30 – 22:30). Although there are many areas where cider is produced and consumed, there is only one in the world which holds 'espichas' (cider festivals) and that is Asturias. There is no doubt that 'espicha' is synonymous with Asturias, and you can see that for yourself in this special event on Tuesday afternoon.

Conference Excursion: Thursday, June 2, 2022 (from 14:30 to 19:00). Guided visit to “The Laboral City of Culture” and “Atlantic Botanical Gardens”. Discover some of the places that make up the monumental complex of the former Universidad Laboral de Gijón, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. We will also visit the first Botanical Garden in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, which stands out for its approach, modern and non-generalist, based on specialized collections of flora.

Conference Banquet: Thursday, June 2, 2022, (from 20:00 to 23:30). For enjoying the Spanish cuisine, we hope to see all of you during the Thursday evening’s Conference Gala Dinner at the abba Mía Restaurant - at abba Playa Gijon hotel, located at five minutes walking distance from the Conference Center.
